Form Selection Tips
PartyKey offers 7 different types of order forms which should cover most of your potential customer situations:
Online Members Area (no services)
This is the basic form you would use if you have a Members Area and would like to password-protect it without installing any cgi scripts or dealing with .htaccess.
The PartyKey login box will automatically re-route customers to your Members Area URL upon successful confirmation of
the customer's username and password.
Online Members Area (CGI script)
Choose this form if you use .htaccess and would like PartyKey to update your .htpasswd script directly after each customer
transaction. This option will give your customers instant access to membership content upon a successful purchase and is our most popular and standard choice.
Your customers will have a choice of logging in through the PartyKey login box (recommended) or through the natural .htaccess
"pop-up" login box. Choose this order form if you have large member-content files, such as movie and video clips.
Online Members Area (notification)
This form will email you a confirmation message after each successful customer transaction with the details of the order.
The PartyKey login box will not work with this option and will NOT re-route customers to your Members Area. Use this form
if you plan on doing your own customer login validation and simply need to have a copy of each customer transaction in your
own database. You will need to write a CGI script which will "grab" the details from our confirmation email message and integrate
them into your database. This option will not grant instant membership access to customers upon a successful purchase and can cause potential
customer complaints.
Services Only (no Members Area, Webmaster sets pricing)
Use this form if you plan on offering services and don't have an online Members Area. For instance, this form would be
appropriate for webhosting services, custom programming, telephone services, etc. This form will email you a confirmation message after each successful
customer transaction with the details of the order.
Services Only (no Members Area, Customer sets pricing)
Use this form if you plan on offering services where the pricing varies from month to month. This form allows the customer to
input any price in the order form so you will have to have a continuous dialog with the customer prior to each payment transaction.
This form will also email you a confirmation message and is useful for webhosting companies that offer services priced by amount of usage.
Shareware (downloadable software files)
Use this form if you offer shareware or software files which are freely distributable. This form can easily be embedded into your
shareware file via a simple link in the help/support/order section of your program and will email you a confirmation message with
the details of each successful customer shareware payment.
Shopping Cart (multiple items, non-recurring billing)
Use this form if you plan to offer a large assortment of products, such as CD's, videos, etc. This form is integrated into our
proprietary shopping cart and will allow you to easily set up a large assortment of items. Do not use this form if you are offering
products with recurring billing from one month to another.
